Hong Kong Post Has Suspended The Acceptance of Mail Containing Goods to The United States Due to Bullying by The US Side.

Hong Kong Post issued a press release on April 16th. The specific content is as follows:

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government News Network released a press release stating that the US government announced earlier that starting from May 2nd, it would cancel the small duty-free arrangement for goods sent from Hong Kong to the United States and increase the tariffs on mail containing goods shipped to the United States. The US side's bullying is unreasonable and it imposes tariffs indiscriminately. Hong Kong Post will never collect the so-called tariffs on behalf of the US and will suspend the acceptance of mail containing goods sent to the US.

The press release stated that for surface mail, due to the longer shipping time by sea, Hong Kong Post will suspend the acceptance of surface mail containing goods to the United States as of today (April 16). If citizens have previously sent surface mail containing goods but were unable to deliver it to the United States, Hong Kong Post will contact the sender and arrange for the return and refund starting from April 22.

In terms of airmail, Hong Kong Post will suspend the acceptance of airmail mail containing goods to the United States starting from April 27.

The press release stated that Hong Kong citizens sending parcels to the United States should be mentally prepared to pay high and unreasonable fees for the bullying and unreasonable behavior of the US side. Other items containing only documents but no goods will not be affected.
